In recent years, the financial sector has undergone a dynamic digital transformation. Low-code solutions are gaining increasing importance, enabling business teams to independently create, test, and implement process changes. At the same time, there is growing pressure to automate repetitive tasks, reduce operational costs, and accelerate decision-making – without compromising compliance or quality.

In this context, organizations need tools that not only support the day-to-day work of back-office teams but also enable the creation of flexible processes, transparent data management, and quicker responses to changing customer and regulatory expectations.

For Fintin, 2025 marks another step in fulfilling this mission – our product roadmap is built on carefully listening to user needs and making intentional investments in technologies that truly support their daily operations. In this post, we present five selected development areas that will have a direct impact on the efficiency, quality, and operational control of organizations using our platform.

Intelligent Documents – Document Management and Generation

Within the printouts module, we have already implemented significant improvements in how document templates are managed. Previously, users worked with the Fintin plugin for MS Word, embedding placeholders that dynamically populated documents with process data. To apply more advanced functions—such as date or number formatting—users needed a solid understanding of the correct syntax, often relying on documentation or memory.

Now, as part of the first 2025 roadmap implementations, the plugin has been enhanced with ready-to-use functions and formatting elements accessible directly from the user interface. A new drag-and-drop mechanism makes it easy to insert both placeholders and functions without manually writing any code. This greatly simplifies and accelerates the document preparation process while reducing configuration errors.

What are the benefits of the new approach to document templates?

  • Operational staff can easily insert placeholders and formatting functions by dragging them from a list—without manual input or searching through syntax guides.
  • Template authors benefit from a built-in set of functions within the plugin, minimizing the risk of document errors (e.g., incorrect dates or number formats).
  • Deploying new template versions is faster, simpler, and doesn't require involvement from technical teams—everything is managed via an intuitive Word plugin interface.

Product Customiser – Shared Algorithms

The Product Customiser module is one of the core pillars of the Fintin system. It is responsible for managing the product offering, analyzing portfolio profitability, and determining the value of additional products. The existing solution allowed for the creation of algorithms and parameters in a low-code environment, similar to tools like Excel. While highly flexible, it lacked the ability to easily create larger, interconnected calculation models. As a result, implementing algorithms that built on one another became complex—leading to duplication and requiring close collaboration between IT and business teams during integration.

The new approach introduces the concept of calculation engines—sets of algorithms that can be reused across multiple financial offerings. Ultimately, these engines can also be applied to scoring or segmentation models, expanding the flexibility of our platform for additional business teams. Users will be able to create these engines once and assign them to different product variants or share them across business domains—such as risk management—without the need to recreate or duplicate logic. This change will significantly improve the efficiency of managing algorithms and calculation models while allowing fine-grained editing permissions to be granted only to selected users.

What are the benefits of the new approach to the Product Customiser?

  • Business teams can reuse complex algorithms across multiple offers without duplication—speeding up the launch of new products.
  • Manual work required to assemble models from small components is reduced—everything can be managed as a single, coherent “engine.”
  • The low-code tool can be used to build engines for more than just product offers, such as customer scoring or segmentation.

Intelligent Documents – Generating Responses with Gen AI

We are preparing to launch version 2.0 of the Document Generation module, significantly expanding its role in supporting manual stages of business processes. The current system enables full template management, document generation, and process integration—including legally required elements such as facsimiles. Everything is fully configurable via the admin panel and MS Word plugin, allowing dynamic data population in templates.

Version 2.0 will be a breakthrough in handling custom documents created manually within processes. Integration with the Fintin Task Manager will give employees access to case-specific data, and the MS Word plugin—using that data and AI models—will generate a draft response in electronic form. Instead of placeholders, the system will embed actual business information directly into the document during the task execution. This will significantly boost productivity and reduce the risk of human error.

This is a particularly valuable enhancement for processes that can’t be fully automated using AI, and where manual document creation tends to prolong execution time. A good example is complaint handling: understanding the customer’s request can be supported by AI, which generates one or more draft responses for the employee to review and approve. The entire process will take place within the integrated Fintin Task Manager and MS Word environment—streamlining operations and minimizing errors.

What are the benefits of using Gen AI in document generation?

  • Users receive a response draft generated based on case-specific data—no need to manually copy information between systems.
  • Time savings in cases without predefined templates—AI produces a draft that only requires approval or minimal adjustments.
  • The Word plugin + Task Manager provide a unified work environment—eliminating the need to switch between systems or copy-paste data.

Internal Consultations – Controlled Information Sharing in Fintin Task Manager

The Fintin Task Manager system includes a dedicated internal consultation module, enabling seamless information exchange between teams within a single ecosystem—without the need for external channels like email. This solution allows users to share messages and documents while ensuring full archiving and auditability of the consultation process, including any exceptions or deviations.

A recently implemented update introduced selective data-sharing mechanisms. Users can now precisely define which information should be shared with the recipient of the consultation, without revealing the full process context. This data is selected during the creation of the consultation request and is presented in a dedicated section of the interface—clear, structured, and aligned with the business context.

Additionally, consultations—just like other processes—can now have assigned due dates, which is especially important for workflows governed by legal timeframes. This ensures that business teams understand the priority of such tasks, while managers gain a monitoring tool for tracking deadlines and responsiveness.

What are the benefits of the enhanced consultation module?

  • The requestor can choose exactly which process data is visible to the recipient—no need to expose the full context.
  • The receiving team sees only the information necessary to make a decision—less noise, more security.
  • Communication becomes transparent and audit-compliant—all data and consultation records are stored in one place.

Task Manager – Enhanced Reporting Module for Process History

Fintin Task Manager currently offers functionality for reporting process data and monitoring SLAs via Gantt charts. The system identifies task delays and escalates breaches; however, the existing solution does not provide full transparency into the root causes of delays or the ability to manage bottlenecks within processes.

The new version of the reporting module will introduce advanced management dashboards, enabling not only the analysis of delays but also the identification of relationships between tasks, consultations, and other process components. New analytical tools—such as business process heat maps—will help managers pinpoint critical areas and effectively manage future optimizations. Importantly, this data will also be available in the context of ad-hoc tasks and consultations conducted through the Task Manager panel.

What are the benefits of the enhanced process history reporting module?

  • Managers can see where and why processes are getting stuck—not just that delays are occurring (e.g., at which stage or in which team).
  • Reporting includes data from multiple sources—not just SLAs, but also ad-hoc tasks and consultations from external channels (e.g., email).
  • Teams can respond faster thanks to visibility into actionable data that supports real-time operational decision-making.
